Without wishing to compare myself to the great philosopher, I must say that this subject has fascinated me since the beginning of my career as a dentist. Back in my university days, I submitted a doctoral thesis that was a philosophical analysis of aesthetic dentistry!
Whatever its definition, beauty is a desirable thing, and few people escape this desire.
Every patient who comes to my clinic hoping to improve the appearance of his or her smile presents a unique challenge. We have to think about and plan the right treatment, keeping in mind that a beautiful smile is only part of the human being in front of us.
As much as I love all aspects of my job, nothing touches me more than seeing a patient exhilarated by the beauty of his or her smile. That moment makes me feel like I’m making magic with dentistry.
