CEREC Technology

Restoring the strength, beauty and functionality of your teeth

Dr Comeau and his team have created a work method that serves to control each step of the smile design process thanks to CEREC (Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic), which is a type of 3D porcelain printer. This technology allows Dr Comeau and his team to redefine the art of dental work by directing each of the steps of smile design creation.

Most dental restoration methods require more than one dental visit. During your first visit, your tooth is prepared, a silicone imprint is made, and a temporary restoration is placed on your tooth. During the second visit, a few weeks later, we make another injection, remove the temporary tooth, and install your restoration.

Thanks to CEREC, everything is done in a single visit. We use very resistant and healthy-looking ceramic materials to bring back the natural strength, beauty, and functionality of your teeth.

The tooth preparation is recorded on video and saved as a digital 3D model. A specialized computer program is then used to design the restoration from comparisons bio-generated from surrounding teeth. The model is refined with the help of computer-aided design (CAD) programs.

CEREC Restorations

When modelling is complete, a computer-controlled diamond-tipped bur sculpts the final restoration from a ceramic block. The restoration is glued to the tooth using a cement resin. For details, see the CEREC crowns page.
