High-definition Cameras?

A revolution in dental diagnoses.

Combined with digital photography, intra-oral cameras have revolutionized the way dentists establish diagnoses. Thanks to a very close examination of tooth surfaces and soft tissues, we can better assess your dental health, and detect small lesions or fractures that cannot be seen by the naked eye or in X-rays or photos.

Intra-oral cameras have two main advantages. Firstly, they offer superior enlargement in excellent lighting, on a one-hundred-fold level. Secondly, they give an eagle’s eye view of the tooth surfaces that otherwise would be difficult to see, like the interior surfaces of teeth.

Thanks to this technology, we can often detect the early onset of problems such as cracks in weak teeth, in decaying teeth, or in movement between a filling and a tooth.

We can hence solve these problems before a more serious and expensive treatment is needed. This technology also allows us to show you the state of your mouth. If you don’t have a clear understanding of what tartar is, for example, we can show you. If there are cracks in your teeth, you will be able to see them for yourself.

When you know what’s going on in your mouth, you better understand what we do and why. The digital images can also help us justify the suggested treatment for insurance companies, for our own files, and to follow up on your treatments.

An intra-oral camera is nothing else but a high-tech camera. Its use causes no pain and produces no X-rays, so we can use it as often as necessary without the risk of dangerous side effects.
